I built a program using Premire Elements 3.0. I was sucessful in making a DVD. I lost the DVD due to a car theft.
When I went back to the program, a large number of clips and pictures are shown as red (missing) in the time line. I noticed that many of the imported data to the Media box shows Offline. Could this be the problem? If so, how do I correct the Offline?
Your media clips do not literally become a part of your video until you Share your video.
So, if you need to recreate the DVD, you'll need to restore those missing links.
The challenge is to discover whether the media clips are just moved (i.e., on a disconnected external drive) or whether they've literally been deleted from your computer.
If they're still on your hard drive, you can restore the links to your project.
If they've been removed -- your only option, unfortunately, is re-gathering your media and re-doing your project.
Welcome to the forum.
Steve has covered several of the "whys" of Media Offline, and this ARTICLE covers a bit more, plus some tips on how to correct things. However, depending on the Assets, they may, or may not work - it depends on where the Assets are now.
