    File Conversions & Editing Formats

Due to no i.link port on the editing system, I captured footage from a sony HDV cam (sony hdr fx1000) off tapes and on to a tape deck system and onto a mac OS with final cut.  I just took the .mov files from the capture disk and dropped them onto an external drive. they played back fine from the mac.

I have premiere 5.5 windows OS and im having trouble with playback and editing.  can someone guide me along the process to edit this digital footage in the correct manner, I know its a small step I could be over looking.

these are the specs of my digital footage, i can only get audio for now, with no visual playback.

      Type: MPEG Movie
      File Size: 140.5 MB
      Image Size: 1440 x 1080
      Frame Rate: 29.97
Source Audio Format: 48000 Hz - compressed - Stereo
Project Audio Format: 48000 Hz - 32 bit floating point - Stereo
      Total Duration: 00;11;34;12
Average Data Rate: 207 KB / second
      Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1.3333

      much thanks.

      p.s. i shot it in 1080i 24p sony HDV
