you read it right. $150.
to the OP, it depends on what you definition of GOOD is. you can get a GOOD HD cam for either $500, or $5000, it just depends on what suits your needs. "good" is subjective.

ProMaxed Aug 2, 2011 5:53 AM (in response to AshleyC2011)You might be able to just keep your current camcorder, instead of trashing it, and spending a lot more money... that is if you're happy with the quality of the recording of your toshiba.
Check out a capture device that installs in / connects to your computer for $190. The BM design is a pro level device for little cash that will capture / convert most anything that you can attach it too. Additionally, you can playback through HDMI / RCA to a TV from your computer. The BM devices are 100% compatible with CS5.5. Here are the links (b&h is a very reliable vendor too):

Good luck!

Ann Bens Aug 2, 2011 7:13 AM (in response to AshleyC2011)Most hd camera's do not have analog in for capturing vhs etc.
Just a handfull of hdv camera's have this option and they do not come for 150 dollar.
Good solution is to get youselfe a Grass Valley converter, much cheaper is the Pyro converter.
