I see the shift in Chrome, Internet Explorer & Firefox. They are all on the latest versions.
You can see the difference in gap in relation to the image on the background.
The container is in the main style sheet so in theory should look the same on all pages
Perhaps what you're seeing is the appearance of a vertical scrollbar on long pages and the absence of one on short pages -- hence the "shift."
Add this to the top of your main style CSS:
ahhhhhhhhh! thank you very much for pointing that out. You must be viewing my site on a smaller resolution so you will be having a vertical scroll bar on every page but on my PC I only have a scroll bar on two of the pages. I changed the resolution and realised that was the case.

Just out of curiosty is there another way to stop the divs being pushed over when a scroll bar appears at the side without having to put a false bar on every page. Im totally happy with the solution you gave me but I'm just curious!

Not without disabling scrollbars entirely -- which you can't do for obvious reasons.

In IE8 not seeing any div changes but your image near the top of the si
debar flashes every time I go to a different page.
