    Flex 2 maps

I know there is a hack for using Yahoo maps via local connection to talk to as2, but does anyone know when there is going to be any standard support for maps in flex 2/as3?

What are you suggesting? Realize that mapquest, yahoo, google, microsoft,
etc. all have very large server farms which are responsible for the high-res
aerial imagery info, and a fairly good GIS server for doing vector graphic
          (roadmap) overlays.

Take a look at the Open GIS forums and what ESRI is doing in terms of WSDL
          aware map services.
