how many 'lanes' does a pc quadro 4000 use, please?

      hello,

      i use PPRO cs5.03 and win7 64bit

still trying to consistently run 2 pny quadro 4000 gpus

doing a lot of reading i cannot find / am confused about

how many pcie lanes a quadro 4000 uses

i have an asus p6x58d-e mother board

that has 3 pcie x16 slots

      slots 1 & 3 are    "pci-e 2.0 x 16 (x16 link)"

      slot 4          is     "pci-e 2.0 x 16 (at max x8 link)"

1.) my question is though a quadro 4000 is a x16 card (length wise, needs a x16 dual slot)

what type of 'link' does it use...how many 'lanes' does it use at 'high performance'?

i ask because of high gpu temps and bandwith

i have been reading up on pcie external enclosures to house the 2 quadros

from companies like NETSTOR and CUBIX (although expensive)

i checked the nvidia and pny websites and all they state is that the quadro4000 requires a pcie 2.0 x16 slot

it doesn't seem to mention the 'lanes' or 'link' needed...

the quadro4000 bandwith as stated on the websites is:  memory bandwith=89.6 GB/sec

and the graphics bus is PCI Express 2.0 x16

      BONUS QUESTION:

2.) i have also read a lot that if you use the sata3 connectors and/or usb 3.0 connectors

the x58 architecture uses bandwith from the pcie slots reducing their performance...

      any insights?

any help, advice, insight is always appreciated...

      have a great day...
