Window > Workspace > Show Full Menus
The command is sticky, but only applies to the current workspace. So if you are in Typography and go to Window > Workspace > Show Full Menus then switch to Advanced, you won’t be in full menus anymore until you repeat the command. But if you switch back to Typography you’ll be in full menus again until you select Reset [Typography].
Thanks for the help Scott. I'm not sure we are working on the same version of Indesign. I am working on CS3. In that version I dont see the option for show all menu items in the work space menu. Are you possibly talking about cs4?
I think you've been hoodwinked by your workspace. You see the Show All Menu Items in the Window menu only beause you have something hidden in that menu.
There is a "reset menus" command in the Window > Workspaces submenu that should remove an override to menu visibility, but that won't put things there that are not already part of the menu in the workspace. I would suggest showing all menu items for each menu, then make a custom workspace in that condition.
Thats exactly what happened. I just needed to reset my menus and resave my work space. Everything is looking like it should now.
Gordon, I deleted your personal information. You should do that yourself when replying by email....
Thanks, I forgot my info was at the bottom of my emails.
