    batch transcoding R3D's

Currently AME does not allow multiple R3D files to be dragged from Premiere Pro. Is there a way to select multiple R3D files in Premiere Pro and add it to the render queue in AME?

You can add the R3D files directly to AME's Queue.  Or you can put the R3D files in a watch folder if they all need to be processed using the same settings.

On the topic of dragging the files, can you be more specific about the action you are trying to take?  And what version of Premiere Pro and AME are you using?

It sounds like you are trying to drag and drop an R3D footage item from the Premiere Pro Project panel to the Queue panel in AME.  That won't work for one file, much less multiple files, of any type.  If you'd like to see this capability in a future version of Premiere Pro, please file a feature request.

Although you can drag items into the AME Queue from the desktop or certain other applications, you can't drag items out of the Premiere Pro Project panel.  The background logic here is that when an application is dragging items, if the object needs to be available outside of that application then the application needs to inform the OS about what type of object is it (usually a file reference) and what can be done with the file (copy, move, delete, etc.).  Premiere Pro doesn't do this with footage items that you drag from the Project panel.  I don't think this is a specific exclusion by the Premiere Pro team, just a feature that hasn't been implemented because few if any people have asked for it.

FWIW, once an item has finished encoding in AME you can drag and drop it out of AME to Premiere Pro, After Effects, the desktop, or any application that accepts a drag and drop file reference.

I'm using Adobe Premiere Pro CS 5.5 and Adobe Media Encoder CS5.5. I would like to drag multiple R3D files from the project window into Adobe Media Encoder. I've found that I can drag from a bin in REDCine-X to AME... so that's good currently for my workflow.

I have put in a request for AME to be able to multile select clips with source settings and make changes to all.
