1. Re: Rewrap XDCAM MOVs back to MP4 files?
Colin Brougham Aug 6, 2011 5:55 PM (in response to BenFreedman)Fo' sho' you can... well, not back to MP4. I haven't figure that one out, but I've got a solution to rewrap them as MXF that makes them work just fine on a Windows machine (Premiere Pro, anyhow) without any purchased software:
- Download this file: xdcamfix.zip
- Extract the EXE and BAT files in the same folder as the MOVs.
- Double-click the BAT file.
- Profit.
Any problems, let me know... but so far, two satisfied customers can't be wrong.

3. Re: Rewrap XDCAM MOVs back to MP4 files?
Colin Brougham Aug 6, 2011 7:11 PM (in response to BenFreedman)My pleasure For what it's worth, if you need desktop preview after rewrapping the files, you can use VLC (media player) to play the MXFs.
I've been trying to figure out how to create MP4s the way Sony does with XDCAM-EX; strictly speaking, what they're doing shouldn't be possible (PCM audio in an MP4 container). I am not ready to accept defeat yet, though...
