Hey! Was just about to post similar and saw your questions. Did you find a solution?I downloaded a 30-day trial of CS5 on my personal laptop a few weeks ago and had your same experience. Assuming that it had something to do with it being a trial, I just borrowed the CS4 discs from the company I am currently consulting for and tried to install them. Successful install, but the exact same thing is occuring.

Still havent worked out what the problem is, i did find something about deleting your preferences, but that didnt help at all.
i am starting a course next week and with ID not working its going to be hard to do it!

but now i cannot read anything on the screen
i use this PC as a HTPC also, its connected to my LCD screen in the lounge room and with the normal size fonts i cant see everything that well haha. it works now though!
