    Flash Click to Activate

      I have been given many fixes for removing the click to activate flash object in internet explorer, however the one I found easiest and works was adding the java script to the flash </object> and a JavaScript page as followed:

      // JavaScript Document Called ieupdate
      theObjects = document.getElementsByTagName("object");
      for (var i = 0; i < theObjects.length; i++) {
      theObjects .outerHTML = theObjects.outerHTML;

      The above goes in to a JS Page/Document and called ieupdate.js and added into the web site root folder.

      I then I added this JS to the html page after the flash code

      <div id="Layer7">
      <object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase=" http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=7,0,19,0" width="890" height="230">
      <param name="movie" value="index/index_flash.swf" />
      <param name="quality" value="high" />
      <embed src="index/index_flash.swf" quality="high" pluginspage=" http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="890" height="230"></embed>

      <script type="text/javascript" src="ieupdate.js"></script>

      This works the only thing is that when I visit the page in IE it sometimes does not load completely leaving a item not loading, however if I click the refresh button it loads.

      It's telling me that (1 item remaining) to download in the bottom browser.

      I know it’s the JS script because when I removed both the above everything loads fine.

      Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong or is this unfixable?

      Is there a better method?
