1. Re: Dissolve flickering
Bill Hunt Aug 19, 2011 9:56 AM (in response to frogmike)Just to get things started, can you give the details of the Clips (say 1920 x 1080 AVCHD), and also the Sequence settings?
Also, are there any Effects on those Clips?
Last, what version of PrPro are you using, and when you Render the area of the Timline, with the Dissolve Transitions, do you still see the flicker? Does that flicker occur, in Exported footage, or just in the Program Monitor?
Good luck,
Hunt

2. Re: Dissolve flickering
frogmike Aug 19, 2011 10:21 AM (in response to Bill Hunt)I have it set to DSLR 1280x720 30fps. I do have some minimal effects on the clips. Version 5.0.3 is what it says for my version.
I have everything rendered and it still happens. I've exported the footage and it still transpires there. The flickering is like 3-6 frames of about darkened or lightened 100 pixel vertical bars scattered around.
Checking just now, my footage is 29.97 fps while my sequence was set to 30 fps (to this day I still do not know why it must be so convoluted), I created a new sequence matching the footage, put the footage in and still I received the flickering issue.
I now also deleted the effects (which are more or less necessary), and the flickering is gone...

3. Re: Dissolve flickering
Bill Hunt Aug 19, 2011 10:43 AM (in response to frogmike)I do have some minimal effects on the clips.
Which Effects please? Any "Auto," like Auto Levels, Auto Color, or Shadow & Highlight, set to Auto?
I have it set to DSLR 1280x720 30fps.
Does the Source Footage match that Sequence?
Good luck, and thanks for the info.

4. Re: Dissolve flickering
frogmike Aug 19, 2011 10:51 AM (in response to Bill Hunt)Yeah the footage matches the sequence.
Shadow/highlights (set to manual), proc amp and levels are mainly the effects used in the effected footage.
Thanks.

9. Re: Dissolve flickering
Bucketheadd Aug 23, 2011 9:40 AM (in response to frogmike)I've had some problems with flickering in the past and someone on her recommended this and it worked for my problem. Try placing a plain black title underneath the transition. Weird I know, but it worked for my problem a while back. Hope it helps
