How to properly navigate between classes and objects in general?

      Hey guys,

I don't seem to be able to wrap my head around this.

I'm navigating through a flash document created by someone else - which
has been done very nicely - though he has a different style of building
flash sites than I have. He builds them up entirely by actionscript,
while having nothing on the scene. EmptyMovieclips are created, attached
and replaced. Custom built classes are loaded into the main fla and
everything is set to be most dynamic. But I'm losing track of things.

My question is about navigating, targeting through this new composite
file. A small in depth explanation of how flash interacts between
movieclips, objects in general, and classes would be very welcome.

Example: Main movie loads 2 classes, how to set for instance the
x-coordinate of an object created in one of the classes to match those
of some object created in the other class. And in general when do you
use this. , levelX or absolute targeting?

      I'm confused.
