adrianjackson88 Sep 18, 2011 8:23 PM (in response to JSS1138)So I've been busy with other projects but just got the chance to work on this again and I'm finding that Premiere will not play my XDCAM EX 50i HQ media at all.

Harm Millaard Sep 18, 2011 11:52 PM (in response to adrianjackson88)Did you import the complete BPAV directory, not only some files?

4. Re: Multicam freezing
adrianjackson88 Sep 19, 2011 12:08 AM (in response to Harm Millaard)All I have are XDCAM encoded quicktimes. Client did the import.

Harm Millaard Sep 19, 2011 12:36 AM (in response to adrianjackson88)Then it could be the case that the problem is exactly there. Ask the client for the complete BPAV directory inclusing all subdirectories. The client should not mangle the clips to Quircktime format.

6. Re: Multicam freezing
adrianjackson88 Sep 19, 2011 12:49 AM (in response to Harm Millaard)Pretty useless suggestion, the cards will have been formatted by now, and the client is a uni with FCP suites, they are doing what their workflow dictates.

Harm Millaard Sep 19, 2011 1:14 AM (in response to adrianjackson88)Well, the client make it useless for editing with CS5. Maybe FCP can be used.

adrianjackson88 Sep 19, 2011 1:52 AM (in response to Harm Millaard)I did end up finishing the project in FCP, bit frustrating though.

9. Re: Multicam freezing
Harm Millaard Sep 19, 2011 2:11 AM (in response to adrianjackson88)For the future, I would ask them to just copy the complete BPAV directory to an external disk and then give you the disk. This does not impact their workflow in a negative way, they can continue working in the way they are used to, but it will allow you to use the XDCAM EX material with CS5.
