I agree with Joe - Audio will ONLY go onto an Audio Track, and Video ONLY onto a Video Track.
Besides Track Targeting (probably will be just what you want, but... ) see this ARTICLE on Audio Tracks and channel-count.
I figured it it out. For some reason it was adding the audio to Audio 5 instead of Audio 1. So I just deleted Audio 1-4 and then Audio 5 became Audio 1 and now it works fine. I think you guys are right about the Audio Targeting, I may have had the wrong one selected. Thanks
That placement was due to the channel-count. The location was based on the default Audio Track layout in the Sequence. An example would be a Sequence with 4 2-channel (stereo) Tracks, and your Source Audio is 1-channel (mono). If you did not have a 1-channel Track, then PrPro would create one for you, and below the existing Tracks.
My default Sequence is 2 1-channel, 4 2-channel, and then a 5.1 Master. If I know that I will need, say a third 1-channel Track, I will create one, where I want it, rather than let PrPro create it, as that will put it at the bottom of the stack, below my 2-channel Tracks.
When one creates a New Sequence, PrPro will put the 1-channel Tracks (number specified) at the top of the stack, the 2-channel below those, and then 5.1Tracks below those. It is when PrPro needs to create a new Audio Track to accommodate Source material, that is not already accounted for, that the order of Tracks can get confused.
Good luck, and glad that things are arranged as you want them,
