Hard to say.
What model of camcorder did your original video come from and how did you get it into your computer?
When you started your Premiere Elements project, which project settings did you select?
Also, when you say you " tryed to go back and edit the file again", do you mean you returned to the original project and re-edited it or do you mean that you started a new project, using your DVD files as your source video?
Any more details you can offer might be helpful.
well i did it on a sony mini DV camcorder and had it set as hdv 720p and i went back to edit the adobe premiere file i worked on, not the origional file

I would look over this ARTICLE, and see if there are settings somewhere, that are off.
Next, I would run that AV file through G-Spot, or MediaInfo, to see what they say about the Audio stream in the file.
You should not be using an HDV project setting with miniDV video. This could definitely account for some of your problems.
thanks for the help. it fixed my problem!
