We are on Mac OS.
From what I have read (and saved a few links) PPro does not work on a network
Win Server is NOT supported http://forums.adobe.com/thread/851602?tstart=0
Not in a Network environment http://forums.adobe.com/thread/771151?tstart=0
-and not on a "domain" http://forums.adobe.com/thread/858977?tstart=0
The best you can do is keep your "master" copy on the network server... use check out/in software to manage who does what... copy the project to the local hard drive and do the work... then copy back and check in on the server
Well, Premiere does not work on the network with its onw project, but compositions from AE reads anywhere on the network or not, just like any other file on your local PC.
All what you need is to save AE compositions into some common folder or into Premiere pro project folder (if PPRO folder is on the network or shared drive), and then import them via dinamic link, and if composition has multiple sequences select correct one. And Premiere pro sees all AE compositions in the same folder.
Also you can send clip from premiere to AE comp via Replace Clip with AE comp. AE will be opened on local pc and you just save AE comp. into network folder, and let your AE guys to work with it, and at the end dont them to forget to save that comp, so that you will see instant changes in Premiere Pro after the save.
I have couple of workstations connected to the network and one of them works with AE comps and another works with Audio in Audition just fine.
