    90 degrees rotation becomes fuzzy

    Miguel D Moura Level 1

On Fireworks CS 5.5 I created a plus sign by drawing to rectangles.

When I rotate it 90 degrees the edges become fuzzy ...

I could understand if this happens rotating 45 degrees but not when applying a 90 degrees rotation.

If I flat the image before the rotation then everything is fine.

      What is wrong?

      Thank You,

I can't reproduce the problem. What stroke settings are you using? What is the width of the lines? Are you using anti-aliasing? Are the ines grouped together before transforming them?

This happens a lot when you add stroke to a rectangle and rotate it in which case, it seems like stroke is not really applied as it should. It just doesn't work good on 90 degrees rotating. The same happens when you draw lines and try to rotate them, especially if you add a lot of effects to them.

Why it works when you flatten it?

Because then fireworks reads your rectangle as a bitmap and therefore it doesn't have to add any stroke effect when you rotate it. It has to do with how Fireworks handles differently bitmaps and vectors. It's not a big problem, but it is annoying and shouldn't happen.
