JSS1138 Sep 2, 2011 2:10 PM (in response to Paul Lewis)Don't use Auto mode, which by design will change with the footage.

Paul Lewis Sep 2, 2011 2:45 PM (in response to JSS1138)Hmmm. i wish there was a way to copy what settings it chose to a normal effect layer. I think it did a pretty good job with the footage, it's too bad I can't see what settings it chose for certain frames and apply them to the entire clip.
I use Looks and Colorista, but sometimes these auto corrections are much quicker and look almost exactly the same as what I create otherwise.

3. Re: lock in auto levels, contrast, and color?
ExactImage Sep 2, 2011 3:52 PM (in response to Paul Lewis)....then use auto to create a look you're happy with, replicate it in Colorista and save as a preset.
I know it's easier said than done, but with experience you'll learn to recognise what's needed.

Bill Hunt Sep 2, 2011 4:29 PM (in response to Paul Lewis)Unfortunately, the Auto Effects are effective if nothing changes in the scene. With changes, they get very flaky. That is why few use them, except in semi-perfect situations.
Good luck,
Hunt

5. Re: lock in auto levels, contrast, and color?
Paul Lewis Sep 2, 2011 6:09 PM (in response to ExactImage)That's all just too bad I guess! I will have to start saving presets in colorista as I do shoot in the same locations often.
