    Ideas for Omniture Analytics

    Johannes Eckert Community Member

I was with a client yesterday and we discussed Analytics, a great feature that a DPS subscription offers

We noted that it would be very helpful to learn some more insights about the users habits while reading the magazine/using the app.

Currently, I seems that Omniture tracks the plain view count of assets, interactivity and articles. Also installs and purchases.

Here are a few more things that would be really helpful to optimize the app:

      • Track length of reading and "deepnes" how many pages in one article are read before the user breaks out
      • Track orientation: Wich orientation the app will be opened and read the most, and on wich places will the user switch the orientation. Will he come back or stick to it?
      • Track returning readers: will one folio be opened again, months after purchase and initial read, to find one article again or browse through older content?

I understand these things might harder to track than just the view count, but reading habits on the ipad are new for all of us and we could generate great empiric data.

I also read somewhere that adobe and omniture are currently trying to find out what is important to track, so there might be some improvements soon.
