I've got some PDFs that change the zoom from whatever I was using to full page whenever I click a bookmark the author provided. Am I stuck with this, or is there a way to get Adobe Reader to keep my current zoom settings when I click a bookmark?
You are at the mercy of the pdf creator. It is his/her creation. He/She has determined how it should be viewed. Without Acrobat you cannot change bookmark properties.
Actually, you're not entirely at the mercy of the creator of the PDF.
Using this tool , created by me, you can set all of the bookmarks in your PDF file(s) to "Inherit Zoom" with a single click, so that your zoom settings will not change when you click them. And you don't need Acrobat in order to use it, either.
That's terrible, isn't it? The author can never know what kind of display are you gonna use for opening his document, so the results will always be completely arbitrary and random for every user with a different screen resolution than the author's.
Found good reason to download a pirate copy of Adobe Acrobat <3
