Honestly, your best bet may be to upgrade to 5.5 and ditch the Matrox. The trial is fully functional, and opening the current project will force you to create a copy of it, so the original remains unaltered. This way you can test to see if everything works.

Thanks for the thought. Unfortunately the quote of over £4,000 +VAT for a new machine does not go down well with my boss so for the time being I must continue with my existing system. I cannot install CS5.5 on my existing machine as I am running Windows XP SP2 32 bit.
Any thoughts on being able to import a sequence from one project into another?

You can get Windows 7 64 bit for about $140.
