Hi Pedro, I take it you are printing not exporting. If you go to the advanced tab under print what is the Transparency Flattener set to? If Low Resolution change it to Med or High. The high quality view setting in Indesign doesn't affect the printing.
Hi Hutch 75,
Thanks for your response. Actually, what I was doing is exporting as a high quailty PDF and then printing the document.
I changed my settings in Transparency Flattener to High. Though everytime I go back to the Transparency Flattener settings, the Low is highlighted blue. Does the blue highlight mean what it is set at? If so, it does not seem to save my settings.
Is there a different procedure when exporting to make sure I get a high quality pdf with high quality drop shadows?
Thanks for your help.
When you say you're printing out a high quality print, what kind of printer are you printing to?
The High Quality Print preset is NOT intended for commercial printing. It's intended for printing to a desktop printer (inkjet, etc.). Normally, you should not have to do transparency flattening for a desktop printer. You shouldn't see pixellation on a drop shadow for a desktop printer.
Have you tried resetting your preferences?
I re-printed today and made sure transparency flatten was at high resolution. That solved the problem.
Thanks for everyone's help.
