I need to use softkeyboard for a flash program developed for windows desktop, and I tried the example given on the following page:
When I test the movie, it gives me a compiler error:
1119: Access of possibly undefined property needsSoftKeyboard through a reference with static type flash.display:Sprite.
I noticed that this feature is available to flash players 10.2 or higher, so I updated my CS4, but it still didn't work. Does anybody know what is causing the problem?
Did you take this code and copy and paste it into your own class?? Because you might be extending a movieclip, when the class imports a sprite, not a movielcip.
I am unsure of your actual class, and im no professional. Maybe Kglad or someone who really know what they are doing can enlighten you, but I hope my suggestions can help.
Thanks for your suggestion.
Actually, I copy the whole class and save it as a new actionscript file, given the same name as the class. Then in the fla, in the action for the first frame, I write the following:
var ti:TextInput = new TextInput();
Therefore, when the flash is being debugged, it calls the TextInput. It was at this point, I saw the error.
I should probably also state the configuration of my desktop:
Windows 64 bit
CS4 32 bit
