1. Re: How can i view the inserted swf, published from Flash Catalyst?
adninjastrator Sep 7, 2011 8:51 PM (in response to nexgenVP)This is the Flash Global Security dialog box. Follow the link in that dialog box to here:
http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager04.htm l
select "Edit locations" and then "Add" the location of the file you are working with.
More info here:
http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager.html
This security warning pops up ONLY when a Flash .swf on your local machine is trying to connect with the Internet.
Once that same .swf file is deployed to the server, that security issue no longer exists, so you never see that pop-up when viewing Live...on line.

2. Re: How can i view the inserted swf, published from Flash Catalyst?
nexgenVP Sep 8, 2011 7:36 AM (in response to adninjastrator)Thank You for the great info. I have one more question for you.
After fooling around with this and having continued issues, I came across the parameters which had the swf set up for flash version 11! Which was sending up the update window. Ok, so I set it up for version 10 and great now I can view in Firefox, but still not Internet Explorer, still says i have to update. Do you have any idea of why this would be happening?
Thanks again.

3. Re: How can i view the inserted swf, published from Flash Catalyst?
adninjastrator Sep 8, 2011 8:27 AM (in response to nexgenVP)For the money we pay for Adobe products you would sure the heck think that they should have figured out that version 11 thing by now.... I've posted several responses to other posters pointing out that exact problem.... anyway, on to the next issue.
Post a link to the actual page for best results... that's really the only way we can really help.
But if it "plays in FF but not IE" it most likely has to do with what's called the IE conditional statement... meaning if the browser is IE, do this, if not IE, then do that. Code will look something like this:
<!-- Next object tag is for non-IE browsers. So hide it from IE using IECC. -->
<!--[if !IE]>-->Nothing what so ever to do with the Flash file itself, rather the html used to display the Flash <object>.
Again, something that is really not needed unless you are targeting very old versions of IE.
But post a link to the actual page so we can test and diagnose.
Best wishes,

nexgenVP Sep 8, 2011 9:02 AM (in response to adninjastrator)Hey Thanks again for more information on this. Anyway, the problem I was having with IE was it was blocking Active x controls, so I allowed them and it loaded. I just did not see the pop up because I was tunnel visioned in on the update to Flash message! Live and Learn!

adninjastrator Sep 8, 2011 9:33 AM (in response to nexgenVP)And the Active X pop-up is just an issue when testing locally. You will not see that message once Flash file is uploaded to server and on line.
