There is external monitoring support for HD-SDI. Check out this video by Walter Biscardi: http://www.biscardicreative.com/blog/2011/06/transitioning-3-aja-kona-board-with-adobe-cs- 5-5/
Not seeing what you want? Make feature requests here: http://www.adobe.com/go/wish
I know there is support for external monitoring, it just is very bad at this point. This forum and others contain numerous such reports. I have been in touch with Adobe and the vendor of the product I used with FCP and now with current drivers for PrP. This is why I have switched to editing with Adobe sequences. Due to the issues stated in the previous posting. I have send in bug reports ad infinitum. I spent lots of phone time with good supportive technical folks.
This post is more editorial in nature then anything else. I really like the Adobe Production Studio and I want to see it succeed and flourish.
Thanks Tom. We're working hard to have better support for 3rd party hardware in Premiere Pro. We're also working with vendors to improve interoperation between Premiere Pro and 3rd party products. 3rd parties, of course, have to provide the drivers and other technical items, so it is a team effort. I realize it's hard to be patient, so thanks for continuing to file feature requests and bugs. Others can do so here: http://www.adobe.com/go/wish
Will do Kevin. And I would like to validate the important role you and Todd and Karl and numerous others play in this wonderful creative explosion that Adobe is a catalyst in.
