The playback of all clips does not have audio output. However when I scrub the timeline, I can hear that there is sound. When I "Share" the final project (creat the DVD) the sound is complete as I expect it to be on the DVD. Pre 9 has played sound on this computer for some projects and clips before, but now does not seem to work for any clip or project. The system audio default hardware is properly set in Windows XP, and when the final DVD is played in this computer, all audio is working.
Since you say that no video or audio that you add to Premiere Elements plays with audio but that your other media players on your computer do, that probably indicates an issue in the program's set up. Go to Edit/Preferences/Audio Hardware and ensure the configuration is set up to match your actual hardware set-up.
Also, right-click on the video displayed in Monitor panel and open the Playback Settings. Sometimes changing the settings there can help.
You may also want to ensure you have the latest RealTek HD audio codecs.
Thank you Steve,
I opened the Playback Settings and deselected External Device Audio and then selected Desktop Audio. This seems to have resolved all of the audio issues now.
