It works fine, in Windows. If you drag a track from iTunes, you can find the URL/location of the file. However the same code doesn't work for iTunes drag-and-drop (I think there's something "strange" to the iTunes clipboard object). I know it's doable under Cocoa, but have no idea where to begin wtih Air.
Alternately, is there a workaround? Maybe a helper program that detects files dragged into the AIR app and runs in Cocoa... or... ? I guess if I wanted to slum it I could just analyze the iTunes playlist information from within the app itself but that seems a little yucky especially since the app would have to parse the iTunes XML data each time it opens.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
If iTunes doesn't put the data on the clipboard in one of the clipboard formats supported by AIR, then there isn't a lot you can do.
