1. Re: Viewer Builder 1.5 Now Available
Johannes Eckert Sep 9, 2011 11:57 AM (in response to Bob Bringhurst)Bob, is it correct that with the Viewer Builder 1.5 I can create v15 viewers for android, but only v14 viewers for iPad?
And will this v14 viewer still enable omniture analytics in single folio apps?

Johannes Eckert Sep 9, 2011 12:11 PM (in response to Johannes Eckert)... also I had to re-create my p12 certifcate for android, because the viewer builder did not accept my password. either I forgot it or this is a regular step/bug.

Johannes Eckert Sep 9, 2011 12:13 PM (in response to Johannes Eckert)... oh and now I cannot update my app in the market because it has to be signed with the same certificates. damn!
ok, I hope I forgot the password and this is not happening for everybody.

Bob Bringhurst Sep 9, 2011 12:21 PM (in response to Johannes Eckert)I think you forgot the password. I have signed in and updated an app using my existing credentials and certificates.

5. Re: Viewer Builder 1.5 Now Available
Bob Bringhurst Sep 9, 2011 12:30 PM (in response to Johannes Eckert)Yes, you can create v15 viewers for Android (and PlayBook), but only v14 viewers for iPad. The v14 and v15 file formats are identical. At one point, a "v15 BETA" option was going to be available to test Newsstand features, but that option had to be pulled for now. We'll still support Newsstand, but it's not ready for testing yet.

Johannes Eckert Sep 9, 2011 12:30 PM (in response to Bob Bringhurst)Thanks, Bob
And what about the first question, building v14 viewers for iPad?

7. Re: Viewer Builder 1.5 Now Available
Bob Bringhurst Sep 9, 2011 12:38 PM (in response to Johannes Eckert)Yes, you can create v14 viewers for iPad. Omniture data is available for single-folio viewers.

8. Re: Viewer Builder 1.5 Now Available
fredericbotton Sep 9, 2011 2:21 PM (in response to Bob Bringhurst)I've successfully generated a new apk with Builder 1.5. But when I try to upgrade on Android Market, it complains that the new apk's CodeVersion is older than the previous one. Indeed: first one was 6000000, freshly generated apk is 2000000. Therefore Android Market doesn't allow me to update.
What generates this CodeVersion - I have no idea... Any clue ?

Duke_333 Sep 9, 2011 2:23 PM (in response to Bob Bringhurst)Hi Bob,
We have just released our new Viewer (iOS 1.4) which is compatible with the DPS analytics tools (non-beta).
Can you please answer the following questions for me.
1. How far behind are the metrics? (ie. real time, 1 day delay, etc.)
2. Are the metrics only compatible with 5.5 folios, or will these still work with Indesign 5 folios?
3. Our new app has been released for 3 days now and no analytics are appearing. Is there an 'analytics code or something' required within the app or is the connection mae with the 'Adobe ID'?
Your help is much appreciated.
Thanks.

laurent.kho Sep 9, 2011 2:31 PM (in response to Bob Bringhurst)Hello
I want to make sure I understand:
- Clearly Builder 1.5 doesnt change for the version generated for IPAD (still the 1.4 version in fact) => so problems remain unresolved (folio charge still invisible, just tested, and probably many other)
- A solution was found for android which has the viewer in 1.5 witch is seen to work (testing yet in progress for us)
I understant better now the board or not to update production tools as Adobe Viewer is not validated and available on the app-store ..
If this is the case it's just a trick to give us a bone, and reduce the discontent on the forum ...
If i'm right this is just "incredible" .....from a firm like adobe -
11. Re: Viewer Builder 1.5 Now Available
Bob Bringhurst Sep 11, 2011 4:05 PM (in response to Duke_333)laurent.kho - I don't understand your statement.
Duke - There is no difference between CS5 and CS 5.5 folios. On the Submit Build page of the Viewer Builder, do you see analytics info? If not, analytics isn't enabled. Do you have a Pro or Enterprise account? A subscription is required.

12. Re: Viewer Builder 1.5 Now Available
Bob Bringhurst Sep 11, 2011 4:11 PM (in response to fredericbotton)@frederickbotton - When you edit the existing version in Viewer Builder, the code number should increase. Did you create the previous .apk file with an older prerelease version of the Viewer Builder, and now you're creating a new instance? If so, you may want to update the app in Viewer Builder several time until the code number is higher than the old one. Or perhaps you can delete the old .apk file in Market and then add a new one. I haven't tried that, but it may work.

13. Re: Viewer Builder 1.5 Now Available
fredericbotton Sep 11, 2011 4:22 PM (in response to Bob Bringhurst)Bob,
The previous instance has been created with Viewer Builder 1.4. I'm going to try updating several times to increase the number, many thanks for the hint!
BTW, deleting the old apk file in the Market does not work, there was only one instance (done with 1.4) prior to this update, and Google doesn't allow me to delete...

Duke_333 Sep 11, 2011 4:52 PM (in response to Bob Bringhurst)Hi Bob,
We are on PROFESSIONAL, which includes the basic analytics.
On the build submit page, I see the following:
Omniture tracking enables: ticked/yes
Omniture account ID: adp.sj.pro.motoring
Omniture Tracking Server: adpsj.d1.sc.omtrdc.net
Omniture Secure Tracking Server: adpsj.d1.sc.omtrdc.net
Omniture Tracking DC: 112
I assume this means it is enabled.Any ideas?Thanks. -
15. Re: Viewer Builder 1.5 Now Available
Bob Bringhurst Sep 11, 2011 5:56 PM (in response to Duke_333)Duke - Single- or multi-folio viewer? If single-folio, rebuild with the newest Viewer Builder and resubmit the app. If multi-folio, let me know what the app is, and I'll see what I can find out.
