I have an FLV in an (AS2) FLA in the usual manner (File/Import/Import Video).
The video imported and plays fine with the provided skins. However I want to display the video online with the same Play control as many YouTube videos - a Play button shown in the center of the video screen area. Right now I have the video player controls that I selected during import and they are at the bottom. These skin controls work but I'd like to let the user just click on the screen to start the playback.
How is this done?
create a play button and position it over your flvplayback component and assign an instance name, eg bigPlay_btn. you can then use:
yourflvplaybackcomponent.play(); // use your component's instance name.
// you'll probably also want to use listeners for the video playing/stopping so you can control bigPlay_btn's _visible property.
Hi kglad -
Thanks. That worked perfectly.
Surely you jest with me. Since I couldn't script a play button where in my brain do you think I would I find the cells to "use listeners for the video playing/stopping to control bigPlay_btn's _visible property".
That's okay. I'm sure after answering almost 50,000 questions it's easy to forget who you're talking to.
