I frequently use Indesign bookjacket design templates supplied by Lightning Source. The spine area is formatted so that the text is placed horizontally across the spine area, whereas in most book jackets the text runs down the spine ,parallel to the vertical sides. Is there any way of adjusting the format in this existing template so that the text follows the latter layout, or any other simple way of achieving this?
Thank you very much.
I've not seen the templates, but as a general principle, there is nothing in a template file that you can't change. If the frame is locked, unlock it so you can either rotate or delete it. Then either reshape it to fit the spine and enter your text, or make a new rotated frame and use that.
