Anyone have any ideas about this?
Did you set up FlashBuilder to output the SWF to the server folders and hit the correct URL? Should be in project properties in “Flex Build Path”
Thanks for the update. My Project | Properties | Flex Build Path | Source path was empty. The Main source folder is src, Output folder bin-debug and Output folder URL is empty. Sorry for the late reply. Since my heart attack I’ve been spotty on coming to work.
I’m guessing I should add the “webapps” from Tomcat to the Source path. Should it also go in the Output folder URL?
Not the source path, the output folder. It might look like c:/tomcat/webapps/myproject
Then the output folder URL would be something like http://localhost:8700/myproject
Make sure you get the folder and port right.
The errors I now get are:
type Status report
description The requested resource (/FSCalc/FSCalc.html) is not available.
This is a big step up from nothing so I think you are on the right trail. I added to Output folder: C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 6.0\webapps\FSCalc
Where everything up to FSCalc is where Tomcat is. It would appear that something build that final node as it exists. Manually looking into it, I see the html and swf file in that directory.
IIRC, the url doesn’t include the “webapps” node and assumes it. I put in Output folder URL: http://localhost:8080/FSCalc.
I assume from the first error above that Tomcat is running, but not able to resolve the address. I can navigate to the file in the browser and it opens the html verifying that that code is valid.
I’m reasonably sure it is Tomcat. When I stop the server in Flash Builder and try to enter the string it becomes a browser message that it can’t open the page. When I start Tomcat external to FB, the page displays. Further, changing a literal as a test, a run in FB was reflected on the page (all the while the server in FB is stopped).
I don’t use FB to start and stop servers so I don’t know the quirks of that workflow. I just start Tomcat and then hit debug or run from FB and it justs works. Does that work for you?
I use to use FB to run the server. It was nice to have the ability for the debug and stopping. If that no longer works with FB than I will have to live without it.
I’ve never tried it. Maybe the folks on the Flash Builder forum can help.
