RH says I've modified header or footer

This project I'm working on was recently converted from RH 7 to RH 9. Now I keep getting this notice quite often when I try saving some (all?) topics.

There's two problems with this

1) It doesn't say what modification was made to the header/footer. How am I to know if it should be applied or not.

2) I only changed the body text. Not the header or footer.

Is there a fix or workaround for this?

I'm using RH 9 on a Windows 7 64-bit system.

Hi Jared

I am aware that this issue seems to crop up regularly. Question for you here. Can you share with us what exactly is in your Master Page?

Normally some sort of change to content that is in Master Pages is what triggers that message. The fact you claim you aren't changing anything seems to suggest that maybe you have something dynamic inside the page. Perhaps a field that is updating to reflect new information?

Cheers... Rick

Hi Jared

I'm just guessing here, but I'm wondering if what is happening is the JavaScript file in your footer area is causing RoboHelp to believe the footer has been changed and therefore triggering the message.

You might try this in order to troubleshoot. Duplicate that master page. Then Create some topics and associate them with the duplicate. Sometimes if topics are inside folders, the pathing changes. So if you have some topics inside folders, place some of the new topics in the folders too. Then remove the JavaScript reference from the footer of the duplicated Master Page. See if the problem persists.

Cheers... Rick
