thanks. i'm getting a sense that i don't get this functionality in the trial?
In researching this topic (transcribing .wma files to text) i'm being told i need to use adobe sound booth, which is not longer being supported by adobe? There's a new product called adobe audition.
for the life of me I can't find out how to accomplish what i desire in premiere pro.
thanks though, and if i'm off base please do set me straight.

That's not correct.
Did you try the instructions that I pointed you to?
yes, but i can't open a wma file. it's not selectable. i'm wondering whether this is b/c i am using the trial?
I can't accomplish the 1st of 2nd step of the instructions. I've been trying to figure this out all day. with no progress
Analyze speech to create text metadata
- Select a file or clip.
- At the bottom of the Metadata panel, click Analyze Speech, or Analyze (Adobe Premiere Pro).

No, it's not. The trial version has no such limitation.
It's late here, and I need to get home. I'll have a look at this tomorrow morning.
thanks so much. i really appreciate it. I'm searching now to find out how to access the "speech recognition pane" w/in PP.
