I have placed two ai files into my document. Both use the same PMS colors. It is creating a duplicate swatch and saying I have two spot colors instead of just one. How do I get rid of one? It's the same color. If I send to print, will they charge for 2 colors instead of just one?
Will the job be printed with Spot color ink(s) or cmyk.
Duplicate swatches are frequently an instance of 201U vs 201C. Check the names closely and note if it is a Spot solor or CMYK value.
At the least, use the ink manager to alias one swatch to the other.
It will be spot colors. They are both U, not C. It says 398 U and 398 U (1). When I go to package, it says I'm using two spot colors instead of one. I'll try fixing it in the ink manager. Thanks!!
Before aliasing one to the other, you could gain some insight by Seperations Preview. (Shift + F6)
Turn off the cmyk, & toggle one 398 color on, find the color graphic/usage; toggle the other.
