I have a large square area where I need to scroll texfields across the row and to continue to scroll on the next line.
Currently I am doing this by the following:
Create a new TextField and position off the screen
Attach a listener(Event.ENTER_FRAME) to animate across the screen
when the right edge of the text touches the end of the scroll area, create a new TextField on the next line and add a listener(Event.ENTER_FRAME) to animate across the screen again.
As soon as the first TextField leaves the screen, remove the event listener and remove te TextField from the screen
This seems to work, but I am finding that after a few hours, the performance gets worse and worse.
Is there a better way to do this?
Is there a control out there that doesn't something like this?
If you are only using two textfields, then you can just reuse them over and over rather than removing anything of them.
Wish I could... I have to start displaying the same text on the second line as the text just starts to leave the screen.
YOu should show an image of what you mean because I don't see the problem based on anything you've described yet.
