Updating from the Bridge gives me a "All apps are up to date". I've read somewhere else that you'd have to download Premiere and AE updates seperately because they won't show up in adobe's update app.
I've been browsing through the PDApp.log and I get this error messages:
9/23/2011 00:56:03.840 [INFO] UWA.LoadPatchWorkflow Processing the LoadPatchWorkflow
9/23/2011 00:56:03 [WARN] UWANative - Got error '0' or NULL from UCIsOptOutRequired function.
9/23/2011 00:56:03.968 [ERROR] UWA.UpdaterScreenMediator SetOptOption did not return result string. It returned : <error>0</error>
9/23/2011 00:56:05 [INFO] PDApp.AppletManager - Un-loading Applet - UWA_Native for window ID - 1
You may as well spare yourself the time and just do a clean install.
- Deactivate (under the Help menu)
- Run the Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool
- Repeat Step #3
- Repeat Step #4
PITA, but you'll probably be wasting a lot of time otherwise.
Just did I exactly what you listed, but still the same error when trying to update. Deactive, uninstall, Adobe Cleaner, repeat cleaner, reinstall and then try the Premiere Pro update. Error.
The AE Update 10.5 worked fine. Any ideas?
Never mind, this was all just a very stupid user error .. doh!
Thanks alot for your help!
Would you care to share the problem, as it might well help another in the future?
Especially with installation and update issues, most of us are not able to offer much help, as we have not encountered problems in those areas. Your experience might be beneficial to others.
Yeah, of course!
If you encounter this issue you can start by downloading the correct update .. Not the trial one, but the retail DVD one.
Don't laugh ..
No laughter here. If it helps someone in the future, I would be happy to share it.
It's like when one tries to install the Functional Content from the disc, or download, BEFORE installing the program. That happens all too often.
Thank you for reporting and good luck,
