I can have one or more instances of reader 10.x running and all is well. However, if I maximize any of these it causes the screen to momentarily freeze before the screen goes black. It goes black because the video is shutting down. I get the "no video signal detected" message. The computer continues to run and the only recovery--at least that I have found to this point--is to power down and reboot. Does anyone have any ideas? This seems a bit bizarre. Some additional info for what it is worth:
Dell Dimension 4600 tower
Windows XP-home 2002, SP-3
Pentium 4, 2.8GHz
Bill, did you ever get any responses or solve this problem. I have the same thing happening. I recover by using a function key to switch from external monitors to the lapto monitor.
Lenovo Thinkpad in docking station with dual monitors
Intel Core i7 - 2.8GHz
Nothing at all. Coincidentally, I haven't used that particular machine very much in recent times except for one long day a few weeks ago. I was reminded of this strange problem when it occurred a few hours into my work. SOB! I have wondered if it has anything to do with the ATI video card and/or the associated software. The machine is almost 10 years old and I replaced the card about 3 years ago.
