Oh, holy hell.  Looks (at least at first glance) like this is the issue.  Should've never let that very-old Firefox profile update itself.

http://forums.adobe.com/message/3901919

(essentially, it says to fix your mm.cfg file to zap some idiot entry that FlashFirebug put there)

Same issue, started yesterday for no apparent reason, and I can't think of any system changes I've made (or OS updates).

FB 4.5.1, Mac OS X 10.6

Tried new and existing projects, everything blank.

quick followup:

see http://forums.adobe.com/message/3929927

Apparently, FlashFirebug just straight up destroys everything Adobe-related on the system.  I discovered this after a lot of searching for why Fireworks CS5.1 won't fully launch under Lion.  Apparently, it also messes up Extension Manager.

For future use for anyone who finds this:

Extension Manager Crashes; fails to start

Fireworks CS5.1 Crashes; fails to start

see link above for solution; remove flashfirebug.cfg to resolve.

I didn't even realize I still had it on my system after the previous fiasco.  Probably an infrequently-used FF profile.

Does anyone know if this is a known Adobe issue, and if not, does anyone have a suggestion about how to classify the bug report?
