DO NOT OPEN YOUR VERSION 8 PROJECT WITH VERSION 10 OF THE PROGRAM!
I warn people about this in my books. Opening an older version project with a newer version of Premiere Elements nearly always corrupts the project file.
I urge you to finish your version 8 project in version 8 -- then start a new project afresh in version 10.
good to know. So there is no way to import from another version, to take advantage of the 64 bit speed improvement?
Definitely not. Not in my 8 years of experience with the program.
Or, if you do decide to try, make sure you save a copy of the original project file so you can return to it after the original corrupts.
Thanks Steve, I will follow that advice.
Problems with older into newer abound!
At work, I have a "daily production" database written in Microsoft Access 97
I must keep Access 97 on this one computer, since the database will not run in any newer version
To the best of my experience: I have absolutely no problems opening a project from PRE 8 or even older in PRE 10. But after saving in 10, you can't go back to reopen in 8.
Another way is to use Clipmate to copy a project and put it into a newer version of PRE (also works for 10).
