Laggy Video in the Preview/Editing Window - HD Footage

    Vogelstrauß

      System Specs:

      Windows 7 64bit

      Intel Xeon W3565 @ 3.2GHz

      12 GB RAM

      NVIDIA Quadro 4000

      1TB 7200RPM HDD (OS)

2TB 7200RPM HDD (Where my HD Video clips are stored)

2TB 7200RPM HDD (Scratch Disc Files)

      Camera: Canon XHA1 (HDV 1080i)

The HD video clips were orgininally .mov file formats since I used to work on an Mac pro (now on the PC listed above), but Premiere would not open them, so I converted them to .mp4 files with Compressor on the old Mac pro. (Maybe this is the problem? I don't know)

Whenever I try and preview one of the video clips in the editing pane, it will play for 2-3 seconds perfectly, but then it starts lagging and is virtually impossible to set in/out points.

I have tried setting my playback resolution to full, 1/2, and 1/4 and none of these seemed to do the trick.

      Here are my sequence settings:

Is there something I missed or anything you can suggest?

      Thanks
