export 32bit still from 10bit ProRes

      Hello,

i have some footate shot on an Alexa which is 10 bit 422 ProRes footage.

i want to export a still from this footage and retain its high bit rate.

when i put it in a composition and set the project bit rate to 32, and export a still- it always seems to make an 8bit still.

even when i manually make the color depth 32 bit on in the export settings, the stills i export are showing up as 8bit in bridge

any idea how do i export a higher bit rate still with this footage?

      thanks

By choosing the right image format to begin with: PSD, TIFF or EXR. There simply are not that many float-enabled formats out there and that limits your choice. That aside, most image viewers cannot deal with float tonemapping since it would require specific color calibration and/or preference settings and will quantize down to 8 or 16bit, resulting in incorrect colors most of the time. Bridge should display PSDs, TIFFs, and EXRs just fine, though, as it uses the same code basis like Photoshop for this stuff. Anyway, given the limitations of the process, the only way to be 100% sure is to open the files in Photoshop or other float enabled image editors and verify their image mode.
