I tried to install Premiere elements 9 on my 2011 MacBook Pro and it wouldn't install. Photoshop Elements 9 was installed first and installed just fine.
I am going to call Adobe tomorrow. This is interesting. To the best of my knowledge, I have never had a problem where I couldn't install an Adobe product.
I will let you know what they say. I downloaded the trial and it installed fine. I deleted it before trying to install the program from the Disk.
If there is someone who can let me know what the trick is, I would appreciate it. If not, I will find out, hopefully tomorrow.
Thanks from An Adobe Fan.
The installation box includes disks for installing either to a Windows or Mac machine and includes both a program disc and a content disc for each.
So make sure:
1) You are using the Mac disc; and
2) You are installing the program -- not the content -- first.
That was it. There are two disks for Mac and two for Windows. When my computer kicked out disk 1 after installing Photoshop elements 9, I thought that I needed to install disk 2 for Premiere. I was wrong. It is installed now.
