Hi there. I'm extremely new to After Effects. I've started taking a lynda.com course on 2d character animation. The course taught me how to set up the character walking within the first two steps. After this, am I supposed to copy the keyframes for each lymb of the body and paste them every second that I want my character to walk? Or is there a way to group my characters first second and drag the animation out so he can walk longer.
sorry, I don't know if I'm making sense but I basically have my character walking for the first two steps then he freezes. What's the best way to get my character to continually walk? If it helps, I have set up parent and child relations for the feet & legs, then from the hip to the head.
You nest your animation in another comp and then use time remappping to produce a cycle.
Apply the following expression to each of your animated properties:
If your animation is set up properly your character should go through the walk cycle indefinately.
