I may be updating my systems from final cut to Premiere and would like to know if a mac and pc user can work together on the same projects with a check in and out?
Basically, I am the graphic designer working on all the text and graphics and need the ability (without having to buy a mac) to share timelines with my video editor.
There is no checkin/checkout capability on Premiere Pro natively, though there are solutions that provide that functionality. With Premiere, you can use the same project on either Mac or PC. THe only thing to be aware of is that there are some limitations between the OS's in terms of file types. For example, you generally wish to stay away from .avi's on a Mac if you can, even though Quicktime can read them. Still, I generally open up a project on either platform without thinking about it, which is a good thing! ;-)
Hope this helps,
Thanks Dennis your info was very helpful.
