Premiere Pro has encountered an error.

    RIP FCP

I got the following dialog while using PP CS5.5.1.

It seems no matter how many times I hit Continue, the dialog box pops right back up.

I can Quit PP, but I still have to hit Continue to get it to go away.

PP seems to be running OK in Activity Monitor. It doesn't say Not Responding.

It seems that I can easily reproduce the issue.

I have an XDCAM EX clip.

      720p 60

I duplicate the clip in the Project Window.

I Modify ... Interpret Footage ... to conform the duplicated clip to 29,97 fps.

I create a new Sequence XDCAM EX 720p30.

I drop the conformed clip into the new sequence and as soon as I touch the Sequence, I get the dialog to pop up.

Any ideas as to what could be causing this?

I duplicate the clip in the Project Window.

Why that step?  Have you tried without doing that?

I duplicated the clip so I could confrom it from 60 fps to 30. My limited understanding of this feature, is that it modifies the original media. Or, perhaps not modifies it, but the clip will then be 30 fps. If I want to use portion of the clip at the original 60 fps, I won't be able to. So my understanding is that if I want both the original 60 fps and a 30 fps version, I need to duplicate the clip and conform the copy.

I have not tried the steps I outlined above without duplicating the clip. Any reason why you think not duplicating would worth testing?
