Another example of a bug with the present version of Mocha for AE 2.6.1 and AE 5.5 10.5.1.2 (these problems did not exist in AE 5.0.)
1. Tutorial #3 on Curious Turtles Rock Steady DVD
2. Track the front of a van moving left to right on a desert road.
3. Adjust the track.
4. Output Transform data both to clipboard and data file
5. Create a null and
a. Paste transform data from clipboard. The visible track in AE is about 500 pixels south of where it should be (tracking the front of the van)
b. Paste transform data loaded into Mochaimport .Same problem. The visible track in AE is about 500 pixels south of where it should be (tracking the front of the van)
6. This bug makes AE 5.5 unusable for projects that need Mocha tracking. AE 5.0 did not manifest this problem.
After continued testing this displacement problem seems to only occurs when Progressive footage is misidentified as Interlaced.
I just talked with one of the mocha product specialists at Imagineer. They think that it might be a mocha bug. If you bring the issue to their forum, they can help you there:
(No, this is not a brush-off. It's just easier for them to deal with issues on their own forum. They'll loop me back in if it turns out to be a bug on our side.)
Hi Todd. Thanks for responding. Yes, Ive "been there, done that" over the weekend. I posted a detailed message on that board about the 2 issues I bumped into boning up on Mocha. The displacement issue is related to misinterpreting a Progressive image as Interlaced.
The issue where tracking images in AE that dont respond to AE motion blur ...well the jury is still out on that. Im stumped because I can take an image and move it around in AE and see motion blur respond, but when I paste
transform tracking info to a layer that is tracking a background plate, I dont see motion blur. I do remember this working in 5.0 so hence my confusion.
