As it says at the top of the forum, we'll need lots more information in order to be able to help.
How fast is your processor and how much RAM do you have? How much free, clean, freshly defragmented space is on your C drive? When did you last run a program like Advanced System Care to clean and tune your computer? http://www.iobit.com/advancedsystemcareper.html
A lack of hard drive space is the most common reason the program can't open. You need at least 20 gigabytes of free, clean, defragmented space in order for the program to fully launch.
Have you manually gone to Windows Update to ensure you have even the non-critical updates? Have you ensured you have the latest version of Quicktime from Apple.com?
Are your project files and media on your C drive or on a second or external hard drive?
Does holding down the left side Ctrl+Alt+Shift buttons as you launch the program help?
Have you tried uninstalling and then reinstalling the program?
I tried Advance System Care, and have deleted some more files so I have over 20GB free, yet it still won't open.
Pentium(R) Dual Core CPU 2.20GHz is the processor speed, and I have also done windows update and still nothing.
The project files and media are on my C drive, and I tried the Ctrl, Alt Shift and it didnt do anything.
I'm worried about uninstalling and reinstalling as I don't want to lose anyfiles, plus I bought the program when I bought the laptop - it was already installed on the computer, so worried I'd lose the program which was already integrated.
You won't lose any work if you uninstall/reinstall the program. Your work is saved in a completely different area.
But if you've just now managed clear out 20 gigs of space and defragmented your hard drive, it very much does sound like a hardware resource issue. Maybe that narrow space includes fragmentation or spyware?
I recommend you contact Adobe and have them see if they can troubleshoot your issues.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled it and still nothing opens/can't make a new file.
How do I contact Adobe? This would be easiest, but trying to do anything on here is a maze.
Click on the Contact Adobe button at the bottom of any page on this web site.
When one is not getting the program to Open, or it cannot create a New Project, this ARTICLE might be useful. It starts with a general checklist, and then furnishes links for trouble-shooting.
Hope that it helps and good luck,
