The program could be conflicting with something else on your system. Or there could be another issue that's not obvious from your post. For instance, you may have installed the 32-bit version of the program on Windows 7 64-bit.
Meantime, you can download and install the program directly from the SmartSound site.

There are a couple of programs from SmartSound. The QuickTracks plug-in should be installed with PrE, and allows use of most of the SmartSound music files. Sonicfire Pro is a different program from SmartSound and is available in two versions, the free Sonicfire Pro ExpressTracks, and then the optional Scoring Edition.
I know that with PrPro CS 5.5, and AfterEffects CS 5.5, there are Sonicfire Pro plug-ins, but have not yet read of a plug-in for PrE, though it could well be out.
This ARTICLE gives some background on SmartSound, in general, with some updated links to the PrPro & AE plug-ins, but SmartSound might well have updated things, since I last visited.
Thanks for the info Steve. I am running XP, so it wasn't a conflict issue. I had noticed the smartsound being installed as I installed PRE10, but just couldn't get it to work. Used the link you provided, downloaded, installed and everything works great. Thanks again!
Great news, gloftis!
Sonicfire pro also is improperly installed in PE10. Running it from the start menu says there is a problem and to run it as admin. Running it from within PE says "could not run sonicfire pro...please make sure...properly installed"
More install problems with PE10.
I have reinstalled PE twice. Same problem.
Windows 7 Ultimate x64 sp1
It installed on my XP, Windows 7 64-bit and even my Mac with no problems, Dale. I'm not sure what's going wrong at your end.
