I am a total beginner with Illustrator and I would like to export the layers list as text (one line per layer, indentation following the different "layer groups").
For the moment I thought I had found the solution with the "Export -> .txt" option, but it finally doesn't seem to do the trick.
Any solution anyone?
Such stuff would require the use of a script. Off hand I'm not aware of any such script already existing, though, so it would have to be made first.
One kludge you may want to consider: Save the document to .svg.
In the SVG export options dialog, you can see what you will get by hitting the Show SVG code button. It's more than you actually want, of course.
Having this SVG exported format in text format pretty much does it. When doing a global search for "<g", I get something clse to what I was asking for. I was hoping for some more automated formatting, but I can handle that!
Thanks for your help!
